There are many types of screen technologies that are used to manufacture HD TV sets. Each one of them is very different from the other in many ways that are not limited to construction and design. The quality of the picture is one of such differences that is easy to notice is you compare some of them side by side. Many people believe that there is no difference between a Plasma and an LCD set but there really is one. A Plasma HD TV is better than an LCD in some aspects but in others LCD is better. It is all a matter of personal preference.

The picture quality of Plasma Tv sets tends to be better. One of the reasons is that these televisions have better looking black colors. This helps the picture a lot in terms of depth and prevents it from looking flat in low light conditions.

The rates at which the screen refreshed are very high which helps keep unwanted distortions out. This also helps with motion and prevent blur. The refresh rates that they are able to achieve are so high that is almost impossible for most LCD TVs to match them.

Colors look very solid and have the warmth that is characteristic of analogue televisions even if Plasma HD televisions are digital. The colors are intense and look very rich. Usually they look more attractive than on most LCDs and other types of screens.

These are some of the best aspects about televisions that use this type of screen. They tend to be more expensive but are definitively worth the extra. On the downside it is almost impossible to find a product using this technology that has a small screen so consumers should be ready to look at the section where the big screens are if they really want one.
